Pucker Up!

With the weather getting nice and Grandma Lois in town, Kate and I headed up to the famous Grey Reef on the North Platte River in Wyoming for a shot at some big boys. It didn't take long for Kate to hook up and land a HOG! Fish on! The expression on Kate's Face Says it all! Fighting big trout off the reel on a light fly rod is simply a blast! We rented a boat for a day and floated / Rowed about 12 miles of river which took up nearly 12 hours to fish. We took a nice little break along the way for some lunch. For some reason, a sandwich and beer always seems to taste better outdoors.
Towards the end of the evening we moved in on a very nice little run that held a bunch of fish. With the boat ramp in sight we milked the last few moments of daylight for all they were worth and managed to pull several big ones out before having to call it a day.
We have another fishing expedition to the reef planned in a few months as a father and sons outing with my brother and father. I'm already looking forward to what I know is going to be a fantastic trip!
