Quick Trip to Cozumel, Mexico

After a very busy few months, Kate and I decided to make a quick trip to Cozumel, Mexico for some much needed R&R and to enjoy some of the Caribbean's finest SCUBA diving. We got in 7 dives in 3 days which consisted of 3 wall dives, 3 reef dives, and a wreck dive. Most of our dives stretched out to nearly a hour under water with a max depth for the trip at 83 ft. The visibility was terrific, and the coral formations never disappoint.

The main plaza downtown is a great place to hang out at night. There are some great places to eat like our favorites "Casa Denis" which has fantastic authentic Mexican food and margaritas, and "El Foco" where you can find the best $5 worth of food money can buy anywhere! - the El Foco Special! On the weekends live bands play latin music in the square and the local islanders come out for a fun evening on the town.

After 7 dives in 3 days, Kate and I rented a jeep and went out on a little exploration trip of the Island. Along the way we found this little beach with an interesting lifeguard stand that was rather photogenic so of course we had so snap off a few pictures....

same shot in B&W, totally different feeling...On the windward side of the island there are some beautiful beaches and fun little restaurants. Its hard to beat a view like this one to enjoy a cervesa on nice sunny day!Hasta Luego Cozumel!
